WMN's representation is distinguished by two features in particular. First, our work is analytically rigorous, scholarly in method, and incorporates strong empirics. This approach resonates keenly with regulators who are as likely to be economists or engineers as lawyers, and whose decisions turn as readily on policy and public interest analyses as on the parsing of rights and liabilities. Second, because clients look to the firm not only for expertise, but for judgments that leverage legal strategies in the broader business context, we limit our engagements to those for which the lead attorney has had actual client-side experience as a principal, in-house advisor, or senior officer.
The firm is small by design. This structure facilitates more customized services, preempts the conflicts of interest that often compromise large-firm representation, and enables recursive processes that continually refine the knowledge and expertise we provide. Together these features support a business model that is, for a law firm, notably contrarian – we do not accept engagements unless the potential value delivered is demonstrably in excess of the firm’s charges; nor do we abide the ‘pyramid’ metrics that are a necessity of large-firm viability. Our clients thus enjoy representation that is exceptionally responsive, sterling in caliber, and rationally priced. |
